Data centers in Ghana: 1 project mapped
Ghana has only small data centers. The largest, Digital Realty's ACR2, opened in Accra in late 2025 on Bank Street and Prof. Atta Mills High Street, near the Achimota Forest Reserve. It has 1.7 megawatts of computing power, room for 500 server racks and a direct link to the 2Africa undersea cable. Equinix, Onix and PAIX also operate in the country.
The government wants more. At ACR2's launch, Communications Minister Sam George said Ghana's data localization policy means "all of the local data and traffic that's been processed on clouds outside the country will all have to sit here." In April 2026 he announced that the Cabinet had approved $250 million for a national AI computing center to support work in farming, health, education and finance, along with a national AI strategy launched on April 24. No site for the computing center has been announced.
