Rabat is one of Morocco's two data center cities, along with Casablanca, favored for its fiber connections and reliable power, Morocco World News reported. Orange lists a data center, DC3, in Rabat. A 2021 law requiring sensitive data to stay in Morocco has pushed banks, government agencies and companies to move their data into local data centers.
The 500-megawatt Nexus AI Factory, the country's largest planned AI data center, is not in this region. The consortium led by Nexus Core Systems with Naver Cloud, Nvidia and Lloyds Capital chose Nouaceur, on the outskirts of Casablanca, where the Casablanca-Settat regional council set aside 666 hectares. Its first 40-megawatt phase was first scheduled for early 2026 and is running behind.
