Data centers in Turkey: 1 project mapped

Turkey's established data centers are in Istanbul, where Equinix runs its IS1 site, but the new ones are going up around Ankara. The e-commerce company Trendyol, majority-owned by Alibaba, and the UAE's Castle Investments are building the Ankara Data Hub, a roughly $500 million, 48-megawatt data center whose first 9.6 megawatts were due to open in the third quarter of 2026. Trendyol plans to use about 40% of it and rent the rest to cloud and business customers.

The Emirati operator Khazna, backed by G42, announced in April 2025 that it would build a data center of up to 100 megawatts of power in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone, southwest of Ankara, starting with cloud computing and later adding AI. In September 2026 Digital Realty formed a joint venture with Rönesans Infrastructure that is building an Ankara campus of more than 22 megawatts; the partners say land, power and permits are secured, and the first building is due in 2028, with a second site planned in Istanbul.
