Data centers in Eastern Province: 1 project mapped
Humain, the state-backed AI company, is building a data center in Dammam with an initial 100 megawatts of power. It broke ground in August 2025 on this site and a sister site in Riyadh, and said both would go live in the second quarter of 2026; no opening has been announced. Chief executive Tareq Amin said the timing depended on receiving Nvidia chips from the US, subject to "the governance and the protocols and the approval of the US government."
Humain says it has secured 211 plots of land across Saudi Arabia toward about 6 gigawatts of data centers over the next decade, but would not say where. Heat is a local cost: nearly all of Saudi Arabia's data centers sit in areas hotter than the 18 to 27°C range recommended for efficient operation, a Rest of World and Climate Central analysis found, which means more power spent on cooling.
