Conway has agreed to terms for a $1 billion, 300,000-square-foot data center on Lollie Road near Conway Municipal Airport, but the company behind it has not been named. The City Council approved a memorandum of understanding in April 2025 with Forgelight Ventures LLC, a shell company whose tax filings list a Delaware address; officials say only that the end user is a Fortune 100 company. Mayor Bart Castleberry calls the project "speculative" and says it "will not happen quickly."

The deal promises about 50 jobs in exchange for a 65 percent property tax break for 30 years, extended to any future expansions. Treated water from the Tupelo Bayou wastewater plant could be used for cooling, though that is not confirmed. Power would come through the city-owned Conway Corporation. Little Rock signed a nearly identical deal the same month with Willowbend Capital, a firm incorporated by the same man, Michael Montfort, at the same Little Rock address; the Little Rock project later turned out to be Google's.

Residents packed a council meeting in May 2026. "I still do not have real answers," said Jeremy Rice, who lives on Lollie Road and called himself the closest resident. Emily Lane, a University of Central Arkansas professor, said the southwest Conway neighborhood already has toxic air releases "in the 98th percentile nationally." "We can't say who the company is," resident Phillip Fletcher told the council. "And it makes no sense because you represent us." Jamie Gates of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce said he had signed a non-disclosure agreement.
