Data centers in Bradford County, Pennsylvania: 1 project mapped

Bradford County's largest data center plan comes with its own gas-fired power plant. KDI Wyalusing Power, an affiliate of New Fortress Energy working under its Klondike Digital Infrastructure division, is developing a large data center on a 335-acre property along Route 6 in Wyalusing Township, about 20 miles from Towanda. The plan calls for eight natural gas turbines making up to 218 megawatts of power for the data center; state regulators approved it on October 9, 2025. The turbines will not connect to the regional power grid, and the data center's future operator is not yet named.

The county now has its own rules. On July 9, 2026, the three commissioners unanimously added data center standards to the county's land-use ordinance - the rules that govern how big buildings and lots can be. New projects must keep a 200-foot buffer next to homes, put up 8-foot security fencing around substations, and post a bond worth at least 125% of the cost to tear the site down if it closes. No formal application has been filed yet, but county planning director Duane Naugle named two possible areas: about 200 acres in Wysox Township and up to 400 acres in Asylum Township.

Asylum Township resident Sue Corie said consultants were asking owners to sign listing agreements and proposing "to take the whole interior of Echo Beach Road." Smaller landowners who don't want to sell, she said, are "afraid of what the impact is going to be if they remain." Commissioner Daryl Miller said data centers are "no different" from other industrial development, and that he opposes tax breaks for them. A separate cryptocurrency mine proposal in Wysox Township, from Soltier LLC, was withdrawn on June 22, 2026.
