Google's Winschoten data center, at Hoogebrug 3 in Winschoten in the municipality of Oldambt, Groningen province, the Netherlands, opened in November 2025 as Google's third Dutch data center location, after Eemshaven and Middenmeer. Google began construction in December 2023 with a planned investment of 600 million euros, and the building adds capacity to Google's europe-west4 cloud region.

Oldambt alderman Jurrie Nieboer said at the 2023 start that he had been closely involved in bringing the 13-hectare data center to the town. The regional development agency NOM was involved from the start in choosing the site, and the municipality said it valued the jobs for technicians as well as for cleaning and grounds staff. Google says the building has solar panels on the roof, uses air cooling to limit water use to domestic needs, and is equipped to send waste heat into a heat network for future users such as local homes, schools or businesses. "This means several dozen jobs on a structural basis, in various roles, from technicians to security," alderman Erich Wunker said at the opening.

Google also announced a partnership with Oldambt, WerkPro, Afeer and Cosis for a Circular Centre across from the data center, a two-story, 196-square-meter building to repair and dismantle electrical appliances, with about 10 full-time workers once running. Elsewhere in Groningen province, residents near Google's Eemshaven data center have complained about light from the port's large companies, and Google measured its outdoor lighting there in August 2026.

Whether the Winschoten heat reaches homes depends on a heat network and future buyers, which Oldambt and Google have not yet named.
