Nautilus is a 200-megawatt bitcoin mining data center in Berwick, Pennsylvania, powered under a below-market legacy contract tied to Talen Energy's Susquehanna nuclear plant. Talen Energy bought out TeraWulf's 25% stake in the Nautilus joint venture in October 2024 for about $85 million cash plus mining equipment, giving Talen full ownership.
TeraWulf said the sale let it capture value ahead of the 2 cent per kilowatt-hour power contract and ground lease expiring in June 2027, and it reinvested the $92 million in proceeds into its own Lake Mariner site in New York rather than Nautilus.
