Green Mountain's biggest project is a TikTok data center campus at Heggvin, between Hamar and Løten in Norway, part of TikTok's "Project Clover" effort to keep European user data in Europe. The OSL-Hamar campus is planned as five buildings of 30MW each; TikTok has contracted three, with an option on the rest, and has already taken over the first hall, NRK reported. Norway's government found no grounds to block the deal but placed Green Mountain under the country's security law.
The energy regulator NVE ordered Green Mountain to stop building the campus transformer station because its license had not yet been approved, and said preparatory work already done had broken the law, Kom24 reported. CEO Svein Atle Hagaseth told Hamar Arbeiderblad the company believed it had done what it was allowed to do, but stopped work immediately once NVE disagreed. Løten Green Party council member Jon Lurås objected that it was wrong to spend Norway's power on TikTok.
Green Mountain, founded in 2009, was bought by Israel's Azrieli Group from Smedvig in 2021 for about NIS 2.8 billion ($849 million), DCD reported. Its flagship is DC1-Stavanger, built into a mountain inside a former NATO ammunition store; it also runs sites in Rjukan and outside Oslo, and has since expanded to Romford outside London and announced a campus near Frankfurt. It has also planned a campus of up to eight halls in Kalberg, near Stavanger in Time municipality, for an international client.
In July 2026 Calcalist reported Azrieli had hired Goldman Sachs to find an investor for about a 20 percent stake in Green Mountain, for roughly 1 billion euros at a valuation of at least 5 billion euros; some market participants believed the TikTok contract had put investors off, which the company denied. In December 2025 Green Mountain signed an 80MW campus deal with another international customer, its largest since TikTok.
