Provident Realty Advisors withdrew two data center applications in Porter County, Indiana, after local opposition. In Chesterton, the company pulled a proposed $1.3 billion, eight-building campus on a former golf course in June 2024. Town council members had said they could not support the plan at its proposed size and location.
Provident then sought a seven-building campus on 102 acres of Worthington Steel land in Burns Harbor. It withdrew that application in October 2024 but said it might return with changes. By February 2025, the town had heard nothing further. Residents had objected to the proposed building heights, setbacks and noise.
In Hillsboro, Texas, Provident is seeking to buy about 300 acres north of the city from its economic development corporation for a data center. Residents raised concerns at an April 2026 meeting, and the corporation extended the presale contract for more due diligence.
