Data centers in Dubai: 5 projects mapped
Dubai's data centers were caught up in the Iran war this year. Amazon Web Services' UAE data centers were damaged by Iranian drone strikes in early March 2026, and in September AWS said it could not restore access to data held only in one of its UAE availability zones. After Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed an attack on an Oracle data center on April 2, Dubai authorities said shrapnel from an intercepted attack had fallen on the facade of Oracle's building in Dubai Internet City, with no injuries.
Building has carried on. Volt and the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority have formed a joint venture for a data center of up to 60,000 square meters at Dubai Silicon Oasis, with 29 megawatts in a first phase and a further 100 megawatts of committed power; no opening date has been given. The telco du has put a 13-megawatt Nvidia cluster in its data center at Silicon Oasis, and in 2025 signed a $544.54 million deal to build a new hyperscale data center in the UAE with Microsoft as the main tenant.
Moro Hub, part of the utility DEWA, runs a 100-megawatt data center inside the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Saih Al-Dahal, powered by the park's solar output. Khazna, the largest operator in the UAE, started in Dubai with DXB1 in Meydan, and has added buildings in Dubai Design District and Ibn Battuta.
