atNorth Haugaland data center, Tysvær, Rogaland

atNorth plans a data center called NOR01 on a 36-hectare plot in Haugaland Business Park at Gismarvik, in Tysvær municipality, Rogaland county, Norway. The company announced the land purchase in June 2026, its first site in Norway, with initial phases of 120 megawatts of power rising to 350 megawatts, and says power for the site is expected in 2028.

Haugaland Næringspark, the park's owner, said atNorth aims to invest about 11 billion Norwegian kroner ($1.1 billion) in the first phase. atNorth was acquired by Equinix and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in a $4.2 billion deal, the company's owners as of mid-2026. Power for the site will come through two new substations, one from national grid operator Statnett and one from regional grid company Fagne.

"This is a major milestone for us. After almost 20 years of maturing and developing areas and infrastructure, we are now seeing the first major industrial establishments being realized in the park," said Tiril Fjeld, general manager of Haugaland Næringspark. Tysvær Mayor Monika Lindanger said the project would bring training, jobs and heat-reuse partnerships to the area.

The park has courted data centers for years: Green Mountain took an option on land at Gismarvik in 2021, when a new transformer station was expected to give the region 500 megawatts of power within four to five years. As of June 2026 it was unclear whether work had begun on that site. atNorth's next named milestone is getting power at the Haugaland site in 2028.
