DC Blox data center, Huntsville, Alabama

DC BLOX's Huntsville data center, at 333 Diamond Drive NW in Cummings Research Park, Madison County, Alabama, is an operating Tier III colocation facility that opened with a ribbon cutting on October 3, 2018. DC BLOX designed it to serve executive branch agencies, defense contractors and others handling Controlled Unclassified Information, near Redstone Arsenal and the Marshall Space Flight Center.

At the opening, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle called DC BLOX "one of those companies that we need to have in our area," and U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks said employment would "start out a little on the low side." The company offers up to 7,400 square feet of tenant office space and markets the site as a disaster recovery location for businesses in Nashville, Birmingham, Greenville and Chattanooga.

State Sen. Sam Givhan said a poll he ran found 55 percent of respondents in his Madison County district opposed more data center development. In August 2026 the Tennessee Valley Authority's board approved a new rate structure for data centers, effective October 1, under which they are expected to pay about 10 percent more for power, and new or expanding data centers needing more than five megawatts must pay a capacity commitment charge. The Huntsville Business Journal counts DC BLOX among the region's smaller operators, alongside Meta's campus near Toney and Google's site in Jackson County.
