Google Lok Yang Way data center, Singapore

Google's Lok Yang Way data center is operating in Jurong, in western Singapore. It was the company's third data center in Singapore when it began operating in August 2022, following facilities announced in 2011 and 2015, as part of a long-term investment Google put at $850 million.

Google has disclosed no specifications or power figures for its Singapore data centers. When it announced this site, the company pledged $1 million to the conservation group Mandai Nature. "Singapore is a regional hub for our network of data centers, cloud regions and subsea cables," Google said.

Singapore controls new data center growth tightly. The government reopened applications for capacity in 2022 after a three year pause, and on August 21, 2026 its Economic Development Board and Infocomm Media Development Authority gave a second round of new capacity, 200 megawatts of power, to four operators: Digital Realty, Equinix, Keppel Data Centres and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, out of more than 20 proposals. Google was not among them.

Those new data centers must draw more than half their power from green sources and will sit in a low-carbon data center park JTC is developing on Jurong Island. Any further Google capacity in Singapore would need approval from the same two agencies, which plan to review within 18 to 24 months whether to hold another application round.
