Data centers in Singapore: 24 projects mapped
Singapore's next data centers will be on Jurong Island, the man-made island that holds the petroleum and chemical plants. On August 21, 2026, the Economic Development Board and the Infocomm Media Development Authority gave 50 megawatts of power each to Digital Realty, Equinix, Keppel and ST Telemedia Global Data Centers (STT GDC), chosen from more than 20 proposals. The sites will sit in a low-carbon data center park being built by the state agency JTC; Keppel says its share will go to a S$1 billion building, Keppel DC SGP 11.
Singapore halted new data centers in 2019 and now hands out power in rounds instead of letting companies build freely. The conditions are strict: half of each site's power must come from low-carbon sources such as biomethane, ammonia or hydrogen, and all four winners will use liquid cooling. An earlier round in 2023 gave 80 megawatts to Equinix, GDS, Microsoft and a group of AirTrunk and ByteDance. The government says it will decide in 18 to 24 months whether to hold another round.
Existing sites are being expanded too. Keppel began building a 25-megawatt floating data center at 25 Loyang Crescent in 2026, cooled with seawater and due to go live in 2028, and planned to start the third building at its Genting Lane campus in mid-2026.
