DayOne is the former international arm of China's GDS Holdings. It was set up in 2022 as GDS International and rebranded in January 2025 as GDS cut its stake to a non-controlling minority, with outside money from SoftBank Vision Fund, Citadel's Kenneth Griffin, Coatue and Baupost. Headquartered in Singapore, it has more than 500 megawatts in service or under construction across Hong Kong, Singapore, Johor, Batam and Tokyo. Mingtiandi reported in June 2026 that it had raised about $6.4 billion in equity and was preparing a possible US listing at a valuation of up to $20 billion.
Malaysia has become its largest market in Asia Pacific. DayOne runs two campuses in Johor, at Nusajaya Tech Park and Kempas Tech Park, and has committed more than 28 billion Malaysian ringgit to the country by the end of 2026, backed by a 15 billion ringgit green loan arranged by OCBC and Maybank. In June 2026 it agreed to buy 26.4 hectares at Tanjung Kupang in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone from Paragon Globe for 398.1 million ringgit; the deal needs state consent and new land titles and is expected to close in the second half of 2027. DayOne also borrowed $412 million for a campus on Batam, Indonesia.
In 2025 DayOne expanded into Finland with a campus in Lahti, whose first 50 megawatt building is due in 2027, and a second site in Kouvola, developed with Hyperco to serve TikTok. In January 2026 it announced early plans for up to 560 megawatts at Sudentulli in Klaukkala, Nurmijarvi, about 30 kilometers north of Helsinki; the municipality has begun handling a preliminary land sale and Fortum has agreed to a grid connection. Chief executive Jamie Khoo leads the company, which also holds more than 500 megawatts for future development and recently broke ground on a site in Thailand.
