ST Telemedia Global Data Centres data centers: 7 sites mapped

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres runs sites in Singapore, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea, and in Europe through its Virtus Data Centres arm in the UK, Italy and Germany. In February 2026 the private equity firm KKR and Singapore's Singtel bought the company from its founder, the Singaporean telecoms investor ST Telemedia. Its fastest-growing project is STT Johor, a 166 megawatt campus in Malaysia's Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park, where it raised up to $1.37 billion in August 2026 to build a first phase of 16 megawatts, due in 2027.

On June 5, 2026 a fire broke out in lithium battery units at Next-Gen Tower in Greater Kailash-1, a Delhi building the company runs as STT Delhi 2. Nobody was hurt, but customers described extensive damage: the internet provider R2 Net put its own losses at about $2 million, and Google's cloud customers saw slow network routing for weeks while capacity was rebuilt. Tata Communications, which co-owns the Delhi joint venture, later told stock exchanges that most customer data had been recovered and the impact was not material.

In Singapore, where the government caps how much power data centers may draw, the company won 50 megawatts of a 200 megawatt allocation in August 2026, conditioned on using at least half low-carbon power and liquid cooling, for a site on Jurong Island. That same month it walked away from a planned 60 megawatt building in Ho Chi Minh City, selling its stake back to partner VNG for about $18.3 million; VNG said the site's lease, which runs to 2041, was not suited to a large data center.
