Google is building a data center campus in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma, on 400 acres at Perkins and Richmond roads, in a project reported at up to $3 billion. Neighbors across Perkins Road in Park View Estates sued Google and its contractors in August 2025, saying runoff from the construction site polluted their pond.

The city of Stillwater named Google in March 2025 as the buyer, after months in which the applicant was known only as a subsidiary, Kipper LLC; plans first shared in 2024 described a six-building campus. Under the tax incentive deal, Google will make payments in lieu of property taxes that in the first phase will bring almost $900,000 to public schools, Meridian Technology Center, Payne County government and the health department, according to a report from KOSU.

Every local taxing body approved the 25-year incentive except Payne County Commissioner Rhonda Markum, who voted no, saying, "I have several constituents that are not in agreement with the 25-year tax deferment." The agreement covers up to six data centers, but the city council has cleared only the first two phases, and going further would require substantial investment in the city's water supply.

The Park View Estates Homeowners Association's lawsuit, filed in Payne County District Court, names Kipper LLC, Manhattan Construction Group, Olsson Inc. and Emery Sapp & Sons, and claims mass grading was done without required stormwater pollution controls. "I feel like they just came in and hurt our little piece of paradise," said HOA president Doris Al-Harake, who worries about what could happen once the data center is running. The association is seeking more than $75,000 in damages; the case is before Judge Michael Kulling.

In April 2026 OG&E said it would supply three new Google data centers in Stillwater and Muskogee, with Google paying all the costs of connecting them to the grid; the Oklahoma Corporation Commission must still approve those agreements. No update on the pond lawsuit has been published since the case was filed in August 2025.
