Hut 8 is developing its Beacon Point data center on former farmland in Nueces County near Corpus Christi, Texas. A second lease announced in July 2026 doubled the undisclosed tenant's contracted IT capacity at the campus to 704 MW.
Site work for the first phase was underway, with initial power expected in early 2027 and a second-phase hall expected in 2028. Residents had raised questions about water, power and noise; Hut 8 said it was still evaluating mitigation measures.
