Soluna's Project Annie is a proposed data center in northeast Texas, next to a solar farm built with a renewable energy developer the company has not named. The company now calls Annie a 74 megawatt Bitcoin hosting site being developed for a potential new customer, with capital raising and modular construction design underway, Soluna said in its June 2026 update.

Soluna announced Annie in May 2025 as a 75 megawatt data center beside a 114 megawatt solar farm, its first project powered by solar rather than wind. It had signed a power procurement agreement and said its next steps were definitive power purchase agreements, land agreements and planning with ERCOT, the Texas grid operator. "It's our first project tapping solar energy, and it paves the way for sustainable computing that works in harmony with the sun," CEO John Belizaire said. The project is named after Annie Easley, the NASA computer scientist and mathematician.

Soluna's project page still describes Annie as "designed for sustainable Bitcoin and AI compute." Its July 2026 update said capital formation and construction design had begun for Annie and Project Fei, another Soluna site in north Texas, and that ERCOT interconnection studies for both were nearing completion. Soluna places computing, including Bitcoin mining and AI, next to wind, solar and hydroelectric plants to use their surplus power, and it operated about 192 megawatts across three energized sites as of August 1, 2026.

What decides Annie's timing now is the ERCOT interconnection study, Soluna's financing and whether its prospective customer signs. Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the Public Utility Commission and ERCOT on August 3, 2026, to audit every data center seeking to connect to the Texas grid before approving new connections, requiring disclosure of tax breaks, water and power use, cooling technology and ownership.
