Robins Air Force Base Data Center, Warner Robins, Georgia

Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Houston County, Georgia, is one of five Air Force bases where the service has offered to lease land to a private company for an AI data center. The Department of the Air Force published its request for proposals on October 15, 2025, listing three parcels at Robins of 30 to 135 acres, and said it expected to choose lease applicants in January 2026. As of late September 2026, no developer has been named and the Air Force has not announced which company, if any, won a lease.

Defense One put the land available at Robins at 219 acres. Proposals had to add more than 100 megawatts of power capacity and at least $500 million in capital spending, thresholds set by executive order 14318, and were due November 14, 2025; leases could run up to 50 years, with the lessee paying for utilities and services that must stay "accessible and affordable" to the base and surrounding community.

Benjamin Kindt, the Air Force's chief of real estate development, said the department is "focused on swiftly, yet effectively, selecting an industry leader as a lease applicant." Stacie Pettyjohn of the Center for a New American Security warned that letting more people onto a base creates "a lot of room for potential espionage, let alone sabotage or things like that."

At Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee, another of the five sites, officials said on June 1, 2026 that no company had submitted a proposal for its parcels by the May 29 deadline.

Outside the fence, Warner Robins City Council approved a six month moratorium on data center applications on July 20, 2026, running through January 20, 2027. Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said the city wants to hear from experts on the water table, sewer system and electric grid before any project moves forward: "We can't allow someone to come in and suck up all our water resources, and be left with water with low pressure, for example."
