Management Science Associates runs a data center at 400 MSA Drive in the Rock Pointe Business Park in Tarentum, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, offering data center hosting, colocation and disaster recovery through its Information Technology Systems and Services Division. MSA, a Pittsburgh company, says it has been in business since 1963 and has more than 500 software and technology staff; the listing gives no size, power or opening date for the Tarentum facility.

Southwestern Pennsylvania's rush of data center proposals has pushed nearby towns, including East Deer, Oakmont, Tarentum, Upper Burrell, Murrysville and Gilpin, to make moves to shield themselves from the industry, the Mon Valley Independent reported in August 2026. Allegheny County is drafting its own model zoning ordinance for data centers, though county sustainability director Brittany Prischak said it would not be legally binding and each of the county's 130 municipalities could choose whether to adopt it. "At the present, there is a lack of strong regulations around data centers and their energy usage," the county said in a statement, "so it's incumbent upon the county to ensure data center developers are held accountable for their promises to communities."
