Vantage Data Centers is planning a data center campus called HND1 in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, near Tokyo. The plan calls for three buildings with 28,000 square meters of space on a 7-acre site, and 80 megawatts of power at full build. Vantage had set the first phase, 8 megawatts, for completion in the second quarter of 2024, a date that has now passed.
A 2026 guide from a Japanese data center construction manager says Vantage's only site running in Japan is Osaka's KIX1, with the Sagamihara campus still in the planning stage. Vantage's own list of its Asia-Pacific locations includes Osaka but no Tokyo or Sagamihara site. Vantage has not said when construction on the Sagamihara campus will begin, and no updated timeline has been published since the 2024 target passed.
