The biggest data center proposed in Region Zealand is on Lolland, where the developer Stender Innovation wants to build a campus of up to 1,000 megawatts of power on about 114 hectares east of Rødby. A majority of Lolland's council voted for it, though several members opposed it, and the public comment period on the municipality's first planning paper closes September 29, 2026. Next, the municipality drafts a plan change and a local plan, which go out for eight weeks of public comment before a final vote.
About 100 people came to a public meeting in Rødby on September 15. "I think it seems exciting and interesting," said Anders Ploug, a landowner next to the site. Stender expects 390 to 450 permanent jobs, which Karina Tyron Sahler of Nakskov doubts: "I think it's very drastic. It's a huge intervention, and it will matter for all of Lolland. Good farmland is destroyed."

In Faxe municipality, an application proposes a data center on about 203 hectares of Bregentved estate land between the southern motorway and the Køge–Haslev railway, with about 120 jobs in its first phase. "It is a big project, which we must assess thoroughly," Mayor Mikkel Dam said.
Microsoft already runs two of the three sites of its Denmark East cloud region here, in Køge and Roskilde; the third is in Høje-Taastrup. Microsoft says the sites use no water for cooling and plans to send waste heat from Køge to local district heating.
