DC Blox runs a data center in Greenville's Global Business Park, off Interstate 85. The colocation company opened the facility in January 2022 after breaking ground in April 2021, and it is the county's only data center project on record.
The first phase covers 25,000 square feet and can hold more than 400 equipment cabinets on 3 megawatts of power. DC Blox has said the site could grow to 54,000 square feet and 18 megawatts of power at full build-out, though no expansion has been announced. "This first Tier III-designed data center in this market was built specifically to accelerate the deployment of critical infrastructure and interconnected cloud services throughout South Carolina," said Jeff Uphues, DC Blox's chief executive, when the facility opened.
