Experian McKinney Data Center, McKinney, Texas

Experian's data center at 3400 South Stonebridge Drive in McKinney, Collin County, Texas, is a mostly underground building with 16-inch concrete walls built to hold consumer credit records, according to a 2014 report from inside it. Property records reviewed by Data Center Dynamics show a company called EvoDC McKinney Data Center LLC bought a 75,000-square-foot building at the same address in 2021, and DCD said the building was likely the same one, though it could not confirm the change with Experian or the buyer, Evocative.

The building held nearly 1,000 servers and had round-the-clock guards, badge and hand scans and more than 10,000 intrusion sensors, with its data mirrored at a similar center nearby, and its monthly energy bill ran about $70,000, down from $100,000 after efficiency work. Evocative, which bought the VPLS hosting business that the 2021 sale record names, has not said publicly whether it now operates the McKinney building; that 2021 property record remains the newest information found on the question.
