H5 Data Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico

H5 Data Centers owns and operates the data center at 505 Marquette Avenue NW, a carrier hotel in downtown Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. H5 bought the 225,000-square-foot building in 2022 after operating data center space there as a tenant; DCD called it a key New Mexico interconnection point with 20 on-site carriers and long-haul fiber, and the building also holds offices, shops and storage.

"505 Marquette has long served as one of Albuquerque's most interconnected access points," said H5 founder and CEO Josh Simms, who said the company planned to grow its operations and expand the building's infrastructure as owner. H5 now markets 225,000 square feet of colocation across two facilities there, with 25 carriers and network providers and powered-shell space that customers can fit out.

In the Albuquerque area the debate centers on new AI data centers. On February 10, 2026, the Bernalillo County Commission approved Commissioner Eric Olivas's resolution requiring data centers that seek county incentives such as industrial revenue bonds to cover their own electricity and water, fully offset their water use, pay permanent workers at least 120% of the area median salary and prioritize New Mexican construction workers. "We cannot ask our community to subsidize costs for multi-million-dollar companies," Olivas said, while opponents called the rules too restrictive.
