Yotta Greater Noida data center, Uttar Pradesh, India

Yotta runs a 30-megawatt data center campus in Greater Noida, in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, India, and the company says it is operating and expanding. In March 2026 Yotta said it would invest more than $2 billion to deploy 20,000 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra chips there, with more capacity planned at its Navi Mumbai campus.

Gautam Buddh Nagar has become one of India's busiest data center corridors, with 17 facilities operating or planned, among them AdaniConneX, Yotta, Nxtra, CtrlS and STT. By June 2025, proposed data center capacity across Uttar Pradesh had reached 644 megawatts of power. The Central Ground Water Board's 2023 assessment found groundwater extraction across the district running at 104.79 percent of what is naturally replenished each year.

Uttar Pradesh's 2021 data center policy set out to attract Rs 30,000 crore in investment and build a 900-megawatt industry, promising that development authorities such as Noida and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority will ensure "24x7 uninterrupted water supply" to data center units. Down To Earth found the policy has no plan for sustainable water use, and officials could not say how much the facilities consume.

Vishwajeet Singh, an executive engineer in the district's ground water department, said it grants permits "only if companies commit to recharging two litres of groundwater for every one litre extracted." The department says most of Gautam Buddh Nagar is a notified area where extraction is restricted.
