Centersquare 2401 Walsh (Santa Clara) data center, Santa Clara, California

The data center at 2401 Walsh Avenue in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California, now operates as Centersquare after changing hands twice in recent years. Cyxtera, the company that had leased the building, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2023; Brookfield agreed to buy its business for $775 million in a deal that closed in January 2024, then combined Cyxtera with its Evoque colocation company and renamed the combined business Centersquare in April 2024.

The building and its neighbor at 2403 Walsh Avenue make up Cyxtera's SFO1 campus, two powered shells with 13.6 megawatts of backup power capacity and 168,500 square feet of raised floor. Digital Core REIT, a Singapore-listed trust, owns 90% of the property and Digital Realty owns the other 10%, with the lease running to February 2033.

Santa Clara has more standalone data centers than any other California city, and the city-owned utility, Silicon Valley Power, says it will not connect new ones beyond those already approved because it is near its capacity limit. Two other data centers in the city, built by Digital Realty and Stack, stood finished but empty in late 2025 waiting for power hookups, and the utility says a $450 million system upgrade is on schedule for 2028.
