CloudHQ Ashburn (LC1) data center, Ashburn, Virginia

CloudHQ's LC1 building, the first on the company's LC data center campus in Ashburn, Loudoun County, Virginia, is operating; CloudHQ plans up to fourteen buildings on the campus for more than 1,700 megawatts of power in all, with two more, LC3 and LC4, now under construction. CloudHQ lists the full campus at 1,256 megawatts of total capacity, of which 756 megawatts remains available to lease, though it does not break out how much LC1 alone provides.

CloudHQ was founded in 2016 by Hossein Fateh, the former co-founder and chief executive of DuPont Fabros Technology; in 2022 a company tied to CloudHQ sought to more than double allowed data center space on the nearby 96.8-acre Dulles Berry site, from 1,671,000 to about 4,050,000 square feet.

Loudoun County has 233 data centers, the largest concentration in the country, and on September 15, 2026 its Board of Supervisors voted 7-1-1 to have staff draft a resolution pausing new data center applications for 12 months. The pause would only affect new applications, not buildings like LC1 that already operate, and the county attorney says an outright moratorium would not be legal. The Board of Supervisors was scheduled to take a final vote on the resolution on October 13, 2026.
