CoreWeave Muskogee OK data center, Muskogee, Oklahoma

Core Scientific and CoreWeave broke ground in November 2024 on a 100-megawatt data center at the Port of Muskogee in Muskogee, Muskogee County, Oklahoma, built to host CoreWeave's Nvidia computer chips. The project remains under construction. Core Scientific said in May 2026 that the first building, designed for Nvidia's newest chips, was in final testing and on track for delivery in the second quarter of 2026; no update on that delivery has been published since.

The 100 megawatts of power split into about 70 megawatts to run the Nvidia chips and 30 megawatts for cooling and other support systems, part of 500 megawatts CoreWeave contracted from Core Scientific under 12-year deals worth up to $8.7 billion. Core Scientific projected about 150 jobs averaging more than $65,000 a year and over $12 million in property and sales taxes for Muskogee County, the Hilldale School District and the City of Muskogee, and Port Muskogee put the capital investment at more than $4 billion.

The campus is growing. In August 2026, Core Scientific completed a $444 million purchase of Polaris DS, the neighboring Bitcoin miner, taking over about 440 megawatts of grid power it draws under agreements with Oklahoma Gas & Electric, plus 40 acres and an on-site substation. Construction has begun on a second building of 82.5 megawatts, which Core Scientific said in August it plans to deliver starting in the second half of 2027. The company has also secured about 250 acres for a plan to generate power on site rather than draw it all from the grid, and has grid studies under way to add more capacity.

In July 2026, Core Scientific and AMD announced a partnership for more than 500 megawatts of Core Scientific's U.S. data center capacity beginning in 2027, without naming which of the company's sites, a list that includes its lone Oklahoma facility at Muskogee, would host it. Google has separately announced two data center campuses in Muskogee County, near Summit and Council Hill, as part of a $9 billion Oklahoma investment. In August 2026 the Cherokee Nation banned hyperscale data centers on its tribal land after a survey found 64 percent of citizens opposed them.

The next steps at Port Muskogee are Core Scientific's: its grid studies, its on-site power plan and the delivery of the second building in 2027. Locally the project is a partnership with Port Muskogee and the City of Muskogee, whose mayor, Patrick Cale, Core Scientific thanked at the groundbreaking.
