Edged ATL01-2 Data Center, Atlanta, Georgia

Edged's ATL01-2 data center at 1760 Thomas Street NW in Atlanta, Fulton County, is the largest of three buildings on the company's 80-plus-acre campus near downtown, offering 100 megawatts of the campus's 169 megawatts of total capacity. ATL01-2 is still under construction; Edged has not announced when it will open, while the smaller ATL01-1 opened in August 2024 and ATL01-3 topped out in April 2026 for an early 2027 opening.

The campus, on the former Tilford rail yard that Edged bought from CSX for $40 million in 2021, is fully leased and cools with glycol and air-cooled chillers instead of evaporating water, from Edged's sister company ThermalWorks. Edged was first planned as a 180 megawatt campus when it broke ground in 2023; the company now lists it at 169 megawatts once fully built and leased. Georgia Power supplies the campus through two dedicated substations, and founder Jakob Carnemark says the waterless design saves an expected 663 million gallons a year compared with an industry-average data center.

The campus sits in the fastest-building data center market in the country: in September 2026, CBRE research put metro Atlanta at 1,803 megawatts of operating capacity with another 2,882 megawatts under construction, more than anywhere else in the country. Atlanta has banned new data centers in parts of the city since October 1, 2024, part of a wave of local moratoriums across Georgia.
