TierPoint Allentown TekPark Data Center, Breinigsville, Pennsylvania

TierPoint, a St. Louis data center company, is carrying out a 100-megawatt power expansion at its Tek Park data center at 9999 Hamilton Boulevard in Upper Macungie Township, near Breinigsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, after buying the 137-acre campus for $175 million in October 2025. TierPoint told the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation it expects to finish the expansion in the second half of 2026.

The existing data center has more than 122,000 square feet, more than 96,000 of them raised floor, backed by 23 redundant generators with at least 36 hours of runtime, according to TierPoint. TierPoint had leased the building before the purchase, which it financed alongside a new $240 million asset-backed securities issuance; Data Center Dynamics called it TierPoint's largest data center in Pennsylvania.

The 508,000 square foot campus was built in 1987 as a Bell Laboratories site owned by AT&T and passed to Lucent, Agere and in 2003 TriQuint Semiconductor before Hamilton TEK Partners bought it in 2005; real estate firm MRA Group owned it before TierPoint. TierPoint said it will add around 100 jobs, and that the expansion, including work on the utility substation, could support 350 or more construction and engineering jobs.

"TierPoint continues to build on its exceptional growth trajectory, with strong demand for our digital infrastructure solutions, including market-leading enterprise, wholesale, and high-density colocation services that support artificial intelligence and other compute-intensive workloads," chair and CEO Jerry Kent said.

Along the same stretch of Hamilton Boulevard, the township has just turned away a far larger proposal. Air Products wanted three data center buildings totaling about 2.6 million square feet on its vacant 194-acre former headquarters nearby, but the Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board ruled in July 2026 against treating a data center as a "similar use" in that district, and Air Products let its appeal deadline pass.

No hearing is required for the Tek Park expansion, since it is adding capacity to a campus already used for data center operations; TierPoint's own timeline points to the second half of 2026 for completion.
