Equinix and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board agreed in February 2026 to buy atNorth from its owner, Partners Group, in a deal with an enterprise value of $4 billion and a total financing package of $4.2 billion. CPP is putting in $1.6 billion for 60 percent of the company; Equinix takes the other 40 percent. This record holds the six atNorth sites already running or under construction under that deal: two in Denmark, two in Iceland and two in Finland.
The largest already operating is ICE02 in Keflavík/Reykjanesbær, Iceland, at 83 megawatts and expanding, next to ICE03 in Akureyri (12 megawatts) and DEN01 in Copenhagen (30 megawatts). FIN01/FIN03, in Espoo near Helsinki, is also operating. DEN02, a proposed 250-megawatt site in Varde, Denmark, and FIN04, under construction in Myllykoski, Kouvola, Finland, are still being built.
atNorth chief executive Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson said the company would "continue to operate independently under the atNorth brand" after the sale closes.
