DataBank data centers: 12 sites mapped

In Georgia, DataBank filed a Development of Regional Impact application with the state Department of Community Affairs for Project Indo. The plan is a 200-megawatt, 1.1 million-square-foot campus on 69 acres at 218 Industrial Park Road in Cartersville, Bartow County, on land owned by the construction materials firm CETCO near a substation. On September 3, 2026 the Cartersville City Council unanimously approved the rezoning and two variances, with three conditions: the project is limited to the site plan, the land may be used only as a data center, and no certificate of occupancy will be issued for any building until a power source is lined up. DCD reported that DataBank has applied for a 288-megawatt grid connection and put the full build-out at a potential $2.4 billion. It would be the company's largest site around Atlanta, where it already runs 177 megawatts across six facilities. The DRI filing estimates the campus would use 5,034 gallons of water a day. Bartow County Administrator Peter Olson compared a data center to "a warehouse, but not stuffed with Amazon packages," and said none of the county's data centers get tax abatements. The county's goal is to use their revenue to raise the homestead exemption on property taxes to 100%.

Its largest project is a 292-acre campus on Stainback Road in Red Oak, south of Dallas on I-35 East, planned for eight two-story data centers. DataBank borrowed $2 billion to build the first three, which together total about 600,000 square feet and 180 megawatts. The company says all three are already leased. In June it added a $650 million upsize, including its first private placement of notes, to fund a fourth building of 60 megawatts, along with an $800 million corporate revolving credit facility. The Real Deal put the company's financing at $6.15 billion in a little over a year. Red Oak already has campuses from Compass Datacenters and Google.

DataBank itself is a Dallas-based operator founded in 2005 that, Data Center Dynamics reports, runs more than 65 data centers in 25 US metro markets.
