Grind Capital Group's data center at 1751 Bells Ferry Road in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia, is approved and moving toward construction over resident objections. The Marietta City Council voted 7-0 on June 17, 2025, to rezone the 31.4 acre site from retail commercial to light industrial for two buildings totaling 347,200 square feet and 108 megawatts of power. The developer, Grind Capital Group, also operates as MMM Acquisitions LLC. The council would have to take new action to reverse the zoning, and none has been reported.

The site holds a cell tower built around 1994 and five billboards along Interstate 75; the tower would be moved near the site's entrance driveway. With homes on the east side, the campus would be graded so most of the 105 foot buildings sit below their eyeline, with new trees planted to screen the view. Grind Capital plans a closed loop cooling system and is paying for an on-site substation, and Cobb County Water has confirmed it can serve the site, though no daily water figure has been made public.

A group called Not For Us - Cobb County organized against the project, citing public records that put the permanent jobs at 5 to 20, against the developer's estimate of 40. No independent environmental or health study was required before the 2025 vote.

At the rezoning hearing, Ward 6 council member Andre Sims asked about heat from the buildings, and the developer acknowledged it would produce "a lot of heat"; Sims voted yes anyway. Opponents packed the June 10, 2026, council meeting even though the agenda had no data center item, and city officials called the groups' claims "misinformation."

Cobb County paused new data center applications on unincorporated land starting in February 2026, then extended that pause 180 days on August 12, 2026, now running to early February 2027; it does not cover this site, which sits inside Marietta's city limits. Marietta's own council passed its own six-month moratorium on new data centers in July 2026, but that freeze also excludes the Bells Ferry Road project because it was approved before the vote.
