NTT DATA is building a two-building data center campus, OSK12, in Ibaraki City in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, at a site called Nishiai. The first phase in Japan is set to deliver 18 megawatts of capacity, with a planned 36 megawatts across the full two-building campus. NTT DATA's own newsroom said the first facility is slated to open in fiscal year 2027, which would bring the company's Osaka-region count to three data centers totaling about 70 megawatts.
NTT chose the Ibaraki site because it sits on flat land about 36 meters above sea level in an area with a low risk of natural disasters. The campus is engineered for liquid cooling to support high-density AI and other high-performance computing.
