NTT Hillsboro Campus (HI1-HI5) data center, Hillsboro, Oregon

NTT Global Data Centers opened the first data center building on its Hillsboro, Oregon, campus, HI1, on February 23, 2021, with 36 megawatts of power on a 47-acre site at the heart of the Pacific Northwest technology hub. NTT says the completed campus, with five buildings (HI1-HI5), will deliver 126 megawatts of power and more than one million square feet of data center space. The campus runs on optional carbon-neutral IT and 100 percent renewable energy, and earned a Level 3 certification, the highest level, from the Cleaner Air Oregon program.

NTT's Americas data center chief, Doug Adams, said opening Hillsboro and a sister campus in Chicago was just the beginning of that year's expansion, which also included new campuses planned for Silicon Valley and Ashburn, Virginia. NTT DATA said in 2026 that it had acquired more land in Hillsboro for an additional 216 megawatts of capacity, bringing its total planned capacity in the Hillsboro market to 354 megawatts.
