YTL Green Data Center Park, Johor, Malaysia

YTL Power operates a large data center campus, YTL Green Data Center Park, in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, built for up to 600 megawatts of power. The company had 298 megawatts already under contract with customers as of March 2026, The Edge Malaysia reported, and it is bringing more capacity online in stages. In August 2026 YTL Power announced a second campus nearby, at Sedenak Tech Park West.

The park was first announced in August 2022. YTL Power says its AI facility there sits on a 1,640-acre site and runs on renewable power from a 500-megawatt solar plant. Singapore's Sea was reported to be the anchor tenant, and GDS was also building a data center on the campus, DCD reported.

In October 2025 YTL Power completed Malaysia's first Nvidia-powered AI data center at the park, built with Nvidia's liquid-cooled GB200 chips, and its YTL AI Cloud began operating there. Managing director Yeoh Seok Hong said YTL AI Cloud will host government and citizen-facing AI services.

The Sedenak project will sit on 145 acres that YTL Power's 70%-owned unit SIPP Power is buying from JLand Group, the property arm of the state-owned Johor Corporation, with an option on up to 400 more acres. "Together with our expanding Kulai campus, Sedenak will further strengthen Johor's position as a leading regional centre for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital innovation," Yeoh said.

RHB Investment Bank said in July 2026 that YTL Power was exploring a stock listing of its data center unit in 2027.

Johor's chief minister, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, said in March 2026 that the state will only approve data centers that use air cooling, which needs little water: "If a data centre demands a high intake of water, we will not approve it." He said 38 projects worth RM15.3 billion will shore up the state's water supply, and that a state committee reviews each applicant's water and electricity needs.

In February 2026 residents of Gelang Patah protested outside a data center construction site over water, The Diplomat reported. Further data center approvals in Johor go through the Johor State Data Centre Development Coordinating Committee.
