AWS Hilliard II (Cosgray Road) data center, Hilliard, Ohio

Amazon Web Services' second Hilliard data center campus sits on 104 acres between Cosgray and Leppert roads in Franklin County, Ohio, planned as a $200 million development; Amazon bought the site around October 2020 for about $14.5 million. By September 2026 the Cosgray campus had four buildings, WOSU Public Media reported, and the site sits directly across from a residential neighborhood.

AWS assembled the site in two land deals, $11.76 million with the city and $2.8 million with the Hilliard City School District. The city's economic development director said in 2021 that construction would begin by the end of that year, and in May 2022 said Amazon planned to begin construction that fall.

The city says AEP Ohio has told it the utility lacks the electrical capacity to serve all the data center buildings planned across Hilliard, a constraint that applies to the Cosgray campus as well as the newer Scioto Darby Road site. Power plants large enough to solve that shortfall are decided by the Ohio Power Siting Board and permitted by the Ohio EPA, not by Hilliard.
